Mythical trails

Rocks, remains of castles and natural wonders punctuate every itinerary, from mythical trails like the GR 53 to more intimate paths. Make the most of it and discover new things, accessible to hikers of all levels. Take advantage of the well-marked trails, on your own or with a guide, to explore without the risk of getting lost.

Did you know?

The figures are mind-boggling! 2,600 km of signposted trails, including the famous GR53, 40 fortified castles, almost 130,000 hectares, including 16,000 hectares of protected areas, 1 national nature reserve, 1 regional "rock and peat" nature reserve, 8 Natura 2000 sites and over 1,200 km of waterways - here's your playground for recharging your batteries and rediscovering your wild soul.

The song of the forests

On a hike, everything is within reach! Discover the birds; observe them with discretion and listen carefully to their songs. The impressive black woodpecker will capture your attention as it hammers away at the tree trunks, creating welcoming refuges for the pigeon, the nuthatch and even the mysterious tawny owl.

Respect the indications (nesting, integral biological reserves...) to avoid disturbing the hosts whose territory it is.

You're tolerated in these places, but you're just passing through their house!

Several centuries of nature

The beeches, Scots pines and oaks, some of which are over 400 years old, are home to an abundance of flora and fauna, which you may be able to discover if you keep a low profile, slow your pace and observe the exceptional ecosystem around you. There's little chance of seeing the big predators like deer, wolves, wild boar or lynx, but deer and foxes can be spotted more easily.
