Can you hear it? That beautiful sound of the leather of your western saddle gently cracking under your weight, as your mount advances through the wild trails of the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park. The sun's rays filter through the canopy, casting dancing shadows on the forest floor. The steady rhythm of your paint horse or French saddle's hooves sounds like an ancestral drum, drawing you deeper into the wild heart of the forest.
In the evening, you'll discover a rest stop that's good for your 4-legged friends, as well as for you, and you'll chat with your guide about the day's encounters before sinking into the silence of the forest.
When you wake up, a new day of adventure awaits you, with your heart, mind and body invigorated.
You'll feel free and connected to the mysterious wilderness of the Northern Vosges.
Your guide for these 2 days is a certified equestrian tourism guide. She's also a western riding instructor. She knows her horses and the terrain like the back of her hand!
A supplement of €10 per person is charged on certain public holidays.
Meet in the morning at 9:30 a.m. at the stable on a lovely hill where you can leave your vehicle for the 2-day ride. A few laps around the stables to familiarize yourself with your mount, and off you go for your adventure! Circuit of around 20 to 25 KM on forest trails. You'll discover remarkable viewpoints, oddly-shaped sandstone peaks and maybe even meet the local inhabitants (roe deer, stags, wild boar, foxes). We'll stop for lunch at the halfway point, and then take a new, wild trail to reach your evening stop in the middle of the forest, a charming, comfortable 3* inn where you'll dine with your guide.
After a hearty breakfast, your guide joins you to look after the horses before setting off on this final day. There's a castle, a sandstone cave and a lunch break at the foot of another castle ruin. Return to the stables around 4 - 5 pm. End of your wild escapade!
