If you're looking to unwind, you'll find here, between the blue of the water and the green of the forest, an atmosphere conducive to active regeneration!

Between Alsace and Lorraine, discover the charms of the beautiful town of Saverne on foot, by bike or by boat.
Visit the sumptuous Château des Rohan and its marina.
Then take a cool, effortless ride on your electrically-assisted bike through the Vallée des Eclusiers on the Eurovélo 5 route.
Numerous craftsmen's and artists' houses brighten up your journey to the Arzviller inclined plane, a curiosity unique in France.

Program/Itinerary

Arrive Saverne at 2pm: check into your hotel or bed & breakfast (depending on number of people).
Discover Saverne on foot, visit the Château des Rohan and climb to the gloriette for a 360° view of the town, Saverne marina and the Northern Vosges. On certain dates, you can sample a craft beer at the summit. Geocatching available in town for children via an app.
5pm: Rental (1 hour, max. 4 people) of a vintage electric boat without a license at Saverne's marina, and cruise in front of the magnificent Château des Rohan. Aperitif available on board (see options).
Return to town and choice of restaurant: typical cellar or canal-side terrace (not included).
Overnight stay.

Breakfast.
Leave your luggage at reception.
Depart on foot for the 14th-century Gothic cloister of the Récollets (one of the most beautiful in Alsace), where your electrically-assisted bicycles will be waiting for you.
10:00 am: We're off for a safe, bucolic 20 km ride along the Marne au Rhin canal, alternating between sun and shade. You'll leave Alsace for a few KM and enter Lorraine. Along the way, you'll have plenty of opportunities to visit delightful lock houses transformed into artists' residences, and discover protected biodiversity. Admire Lutzelbourg castle. Stops for children (benches, donkeys, playground, locks and moving boats) and the opportunity to climb the cliff, a little adventure for children.
Lunch (not included) either at the crêperie at lock no. 2, or on the way back at the Brasserie on the other bank, facing a magnificent panorama and tasting a craft beer made on the premises. Then on to the Arzviller lake, to admire from afar the boat elevator, the only one of its kind in France (visit extra, please note that it's very busy), which enables boats to cross the Vosges threshold and avoid 17 locks!
4-5pm: Return to Saverne to return your bikes.
End of your journey.

1 night's accommodation in Saverne (½ double occupancy) in a comfortable hotel or equivalent B&B.

1-hour rental of an electric boat without a license.

Les Allées des Éclusiers is a unique experience!

A 1st class organization which allowed us a dream holiday. Everything was perfect! The hotel, the choice of activities, the preparations. I highly recommend the Allées des Éclusiers stay in Saverne with the Traces des Vosges du Nord organization.
